INSTRUCTION FOR CHAIRPERSONS

Session chairs are responsible for

  • ntroducing the speakers
  • Moderating the question period
  • Enforcing time limitations

The time allocated for presentation is as follows:
Plenary session: 10 min. + 5 min. (for short question/short answer)
Parallel session: 10 min. + 5 min. (for short question/short answer)
Selected poster presentation: 5 min. + 3 min. (for short question/short answer)

 

* In order to ensure the smooth operation of the sessions, please keep the time allocation as stated above.
* You are kindly requested to be seated at the "Next Chairpersons' Seat" which will be reserved in the front row.

INSTRUCTION FOR ORAL PRESENTATION

The time allocated for presentation is as follows:
Plenary session: 10 min. + 5 min. (for short question/short answer)
Parallel session: 10 min. + 5 min. (for short question/short answer)
Selected poster presentation: 5 min. + 3 min. (for short question/short answer)

Oral presentations should be presented by PC (PowerPoint) only.
The Session rooms are provided with one Windows laptop computer with LCD (Liquid Crystal Display) projector.

You are requested to bring the data of your presentation on a CD-ROM or a USB memory. If you use Windows vista, Macintosh or your presentation data includes an animation, please bring your own PC.

All speakers are requested to bring the data of their presentation on a CD-ROM or a USB memory stick (or own PC) to the speaker's desk and upload their presentation at least 30 minutes before your session(or earlier).

The speaker's desk will be open during the following hours:

* If you have presentation in the morning, it suggests that you do a receptionist on the day before.
* lease come near the Operator's desk located in the front row 30 minutes before their sessions.

* All speakers are requested to operate the slide by themselves.
A. Information for Speakers who bring in own PC

Please make sure that the PC you bring in should be Windows (a version after 2000 only) or Macintosh (a version after Mac OS9 only).

The congress projectors are connected to computers via a D-sub 15-pin plug.

If your PC does not use this type of plug, please bring the necessary adaptor with you and make sure that you can output your data from any PC.

The resolution of the screen is XGA (1,024x768) and if the screen is larger than this, they will not be shown properly.

When your presentation data includes animation, please report it to the operation staff by all means and check if they can be shown on the external screen by directly connecting through the external output of your PC.

B. Information for Speakers who bring in Data

Please make sure that the PC prepared by the Secretariat should be Windows (OS: Windows XP and a version after 2003 only / Application: Windows PowerPoint XP and 2003). Application to make a presentation can be run on Windows only.

Fonts should be OS standard fonts such as Times New Roman, Arial, or Courier.

You are requested to bring the data of your presentation on a USB memory or a CD-ROM.

Please do not forget to fill in your name, affiliation, session number and program number on the CD-ROM you bring in.

Please make sure that virus check is executed beforehand.

SPEAKERS’ INSTRUCTION FOR POSTER PRESENTATION

1. POSTER BOARDS
The Secretariat will supply you with a poster board

Size: Width 90cm x Height 180cm
Presentation Title including authors' affiliation and name: Width 70cm x Height 30cm
Poster Number: Provided by the Secretariat

Posters should be displayed on the boards using pushpins that will be available at the Poster Session Area.

No other adhesive method is permitted on the boards.

2. Presentation
All posters will be displayed at the Poster Session Area. Poster presenters expected to attend the sessions to answer questions in front of their posters. Please be stand-by 20 minutes before the sessions in front of their posters.
